St James Rifle and Pistol Association

St. James, North Carolina

We had a nice turn out at our regular Wednesday shoot in late February. Although it was very windy, the temperature was nice and plenty of folks came out to plink away!

A class of 16 students and 3 Range Officer Coaches participated in the first NRA Class on Basic Pistol Shooting on March 12th. The class was taught by Certified Instructors Rob Jerome and Nancy Adelis. All the basic competencies that help one to become a good shooter were addressed. Students will attend a field practicum on March 19th and 25th, at which time they will graduate. It was a fun, action packed day.

Another great day on the range as Spring emerges in Southeastern North Carolina!

SJRPA, finishing up the month of April. Everyone seems to be having a good time

16 new members of our club participated in the NRA basic pistol shooting class on the 12th of March and subsequently completed their shooting qualifications on the 19th and 25th of March. Shooters were given the chance to qualify at level 1, 2, 3, and instructor level in their shooting capability.  All of them passed!

Our shooters have a wide range of training and experience, from brand new shooter to very experienced. Our members shoot a multitude of guns on the different ranges at Ye Olde Gun Club.  On this particular Wednesday in March, club members,  guests and range safety officers had a great time shooting a multitude of guns at four events.

SJRPA held its first Newcomer Orientation on January 16th. Several new club members and several RSOs were in attendance. New club members received basic information on the club, the range, gun options, shooting gear, safety and much, much more.
